MOT Testing

A Special for drivers of Deal

South Court Garage are currently offering a special service to all customers who need an MOT test but have little time to leave their cars with us.

The customer can bring the car in (or drop off the night before) for the MOT to be carried out at 7.30 am.

The test will be finished by 8.30 am

This will mean that the customer will have minimal disruption to their day.

We were the first garage in the area to have the New MOT computerisation system installed. This system enables your vehicle details to be held on a secure central computerised database and will benefit the customer by:

  • helping VOSA improve the consistency & standard of testing
  • eliminating certificate theft & combating fraud
  • improving consumer protection
  • allowing motorists to tax their vehicles online.

Although VOSA state that a “full fee is payable again for a retest,” there are exceptions. There is no fee payable if:

  • the vehicle stays on site at the test station for the defects to be repaired or
  • the vehicle is retested at the same station where the vehicle failed the test, before the end of the next working day on which testing is carried out and
  • the vehicle only failed on one or more of the following items,

abs warning light, boot lid, brake pedal rubber, direction indicators/hazard warning, doors, dropsides, emissions, fuel cap, head lamp aim, horn, lamps, loading door, mirrors, rear reflectors, registration plates, seat belts (but not anchorages), seats, sharp edges or projections, steering wheel, tailboard, tailgate, vehicle identification number, windscreen, windscreen washers & wipers, wheels & tyres.

Any other failure situation or item should be subject to a FULL RETEST FEE at the current rate, but here at South Court Garage we are subsidising this fee so the customer will only pay half the fee if they take it away for repairing & it’s brought back within 10 working days.

Alternatively we will carry out the retest FREE OF CHARGE if the repairs are carried out by our workshops.
